Here are The Lovesores, one of my new favorite Portland bands, live from Twilight Fest 2017 with Slade’s “Don’t Blame Me”. Fun fact: “Don’t Blame Me” first appeared as the B-side to the original 7″ release of Slade’s classic “Merry Xmas Everybody” (45cat.com). The Lovesores make it their own with a decidedly rowdier and menacing take on the original. Scott Drake alternates between savage screams and impish delivery. Dig how Saul Koll judiciously shreds the living shit outta that solo!
Here’s the title track from The Lovesores “Rock and Roll Animal” –buy it on Bandcamp or pick up their entire catalogue for $14.29 and you make your purchase, today, 100% of Bandcamp’s share of the sale goes to the Transgender Law Center!

These guys put on a killer live show, so, go see them at Portland’s Tonic Lounge on Friday, August 18th with Seattle’s Zeke and local boys Bomb Squad. Or, if you’re in the Seattle area, you can catch The Lovesores (heh, heh, heh!) at the third annual Freak Out Weekend on August 26th at Darrell’s Tavern along with pals and fellow PDXers The Sellwoods and The Reverberations. Check out the official Freak Out Weekend 2017 Facebook page for more info, it sounds like it’s gonna be a blast! There’s gonna be free outdoor exploitation movie screenings, bbq, and even a Freak Out Flea Market with plenty of cool stuff to buy.
