Jake: Yeah, we’ve done a few, but all of them I just lie through the teeth. They’re not face to face. Have you read the Hate comics by Peter Bagge? You know how Stinky is in that band with everyone named Kurt? Well, every interview I just say “we came together as a band because we all had the same name”. I’ve blown all the chances for a decent interview lately.
Ausmuteants are punk no doubts about that , they could be the House Band at CBGBs’ or playing alongside Devo at Max’s Kansas City ,just take all that glorious history from Talking Heads, Television, Ramones, and that list could go on but after listening to Ausmuteants you will agree with me that we need to add them to that list. This is the first taste from the Ausmuteants’ upcoming third album, Order of Operation, due out in September (Aarght in Australia; Goner in the US). We are originally from GEELONG, AUSTRALIA.
What was the 1st Record you ever bought? And where did you buy it? DEAD KENNEDYS – GIMME CONVENIENCE OR GIMME DEATH – UTOPIA RECORDS, SYDNEY.
The first time we met was 2010, GEELONG – AUSTRALIA
We knew we were going to be a Band when WE ALL HAD THE FIRST NAME. IT WAS VERY UNCANNY SO WE DECIDED WE WOULD PLAY SOME MUSIC THAT WE COULD GET JIGGY TO.
What are you looking forward to most at Gonerfest this year? THE REBEL, GIZMOS, BEING OVERSEAS, BRUCE, HELEN, ERIC, ZAC AND MADISON… ALSO SEEING THE STEVENS IN AMERICA
Our craziest gig ever was…. WHEN WE PLAYED AT THE PLUTO SPOT CLUB IN WESTWOOD VILLAGE TO A SIT DOWN AUDIENCE WHO WERE ALL DRINKING BRANDY, AFTER EACH SONG EVERYBODY POLITELY APPLAUDED. IT WAS INSANE
What tunes are you currently jamming to… HANK WOOD AND THE HAMMERHEADS, FUTURISK, LEATHER TOWEL, ORB, LUMPY AND THE DUMPERS.
What are some of the 1st songs you remember listening to that made you say, that’s what I want to do
EVERY SONG BY THE KINKS, SINGLES OF THE EASYBEATS, ECHO BEACH – MARTHA AND THE MUFFINS.
When you are touring and have some time off , where could we find you… WE ARE GOING TO GO TO HOOTERS, BBQ JOINTS, MAYBE WE SHOULD HEAD TO VEGAS? PROBABLY JUST GO TO SOMEBODIES BEDROOM AND WATCH TV.
The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us JUST REMEMBER HOW TO ROCK OUT AYE. REMEMBER TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. REMEMBER YOU ARE THE SUN, THE STARS, YOU ARE EVERYTHING. YOU ARE CHARMED.
