VIDEO PREMIERE: LOVE TAN “What’s The Point”

Love Tan are an indie pop band in the tradition of The Pastels, Beat Happening, or Television Personalities. They’d fit in perfectly with any number of bands you’d find on the K Records or Sarah Records imprint. This is the type of band I fully expect to grace the pages of the next issue of Chickfactor. In other words, i’m a huge fan!

Love Tan is Céline Doméné (Greetings From The Beloved Ghosts) and Ben Nightingale (B. Spanks). They are from Brighton, UK. Home of Huggy Bear and Blood Sausage. Those bands are generally a bit more abrasive, but they played in the same scene as bands like Heavenly, who are very much in line with the sound of Love Tan: Minimal, melodic, breezy, love rock-inspired jangle pop, influenced by the international pop underground.

Love Tan’s debut is up for pre-order now from London-based imprint Permanent Slump. It releases October 31st. I’ve heard the whole thing and it’s all killer. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to share with you their video for one of my favorites from the release, entitled “What’s The Point”
