Amen, my brothers……
from their site…
Their new disk SPIN IT ups the sonic ante by building upon harmonies explored on their 2012 debut ‘No Expiration Date.’ That release was accurately described as a modern take on the 80’s Garage Rock, Pop/Punk, Americana sound. It was also listed in several best of 2012 lists, and was heard on commercial, college, and international radio. SPIN IT continues the bond between the band and producer (ex-The Mighty Lemon Drops) David Newton. His British Pop sensibilities are a perfect fit for the Forty Nineteens Garage/Pop sound. Stevie Wonder sideman Kevin McCourt is back with his Hammond/Farfisa punch. Paul du Gre (Peter Gabriel, X, Los Lobos) returns to master their sophmore release on Heyday Records.
Influences include: Psychedlic Furs, The Fleshtones, Elvis Costello, Graham Parker and the Rumour, the Byrds, The Cars, Tom Petty, Love and Rockets, Plimsouls, The Rolling Stones. With recent airplay the band is making friends in Spain, UK, France, Belgium, Sweden, South America, and Japan.
John, Chuck, John D, Craig and Nick have been opening for such bands as CBGB icons The Fleshtones, Gin Blossoms, The Fixx, Robin Zander, Oingo Boingo, Los Straitjackets side project The Outta Sites, Gene Loves Jezebel, Gilby Clark and L.A. Guns.
The Forty Nineteens continue their Motor City high-energy tradition that has earned them a loyal following that is growing daily. It all combines for one hell of a good time.
