Video of the Day “2000 Miles” by The Pretenders

Video of the Day is “2000 Miles” by The Pretenders for a bit obvious reasons. I don’t usually do live videos for video of the day but I feel safe doing The Pretenders. There is something magical in Chrissie Hynde’s voice, I grew up on that voice. So distinct and beautiful and smooth. Watching her perform gives you a sense of passion and love that she has for her music. The violins on this particular song always give me goosebumps too.

This song first appeared in November of 1983 on the B side, 7 inch single “Fast or Slow”, preceding the album Learning to Crawl. “2000 Miles” was written by Chrissie Hynde’s for the late James Honeyman-Scott who was the original guitar player that died a year before the song’s release.

With the heat wave on the east coast, I need some Christmas tunes like this to get me in the mood this week and “2000 Miles” is absolutely perfect.
