Chicago’s Hemmingbirds and Nashville’s Waterfall Wash will be co-headlining at The Basement tonight, Thursday September 8th. The band’s latest EP, Half a Second is four songs with strong ties to this indie-pop vibe with hints of garage and rock spread throughout. The songs are full of energy and vigor, the lyrics coming at you full force with a fast-paced acoustic soundtrack to your thoughts. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Hemmingbirds live tonight as they will surely pack the venue and have it jumping. Doors open at 8:30 tonight, $5 in advance, $7 at the door and this is a 21+ event. They will be joined by Waterfall Wash, Staying for the Weekend and Rales… If you follow me at all, you know this show is definitely the place to be tonight.
Hemmingbirds is an indie-pop/rock band based out of Chicago, IL. The band began as a solo project of singer/guitarist/violist Yoo Soo Kim in the fall of 2009. The name is loosely inspired by Ernest Hemingway and a Fleet Foxes track about hummingbirds and meadowlarks.
