THE VISIBLE TARGETS – “JUST FOR MONEY” – RECORD OF THE DAY

Damn I just recently discovered this gem. Pacific Northwest band from the early 80’s with a new wavey post punk feel. This came out in 1982. They’ve got good rhythms and cool lyrics and off kilter but catchy melodies and really nice harmonies. Bowie co-hort Mick Ronson produced their follow up EP, but some of this debut EP was recorded at Evergreen College in Olympia. The band is based around three sisters from Yakima, Washington. They were on Park Avenue Records which was ran by a fella who ran a record shop by the same name in Portland and Seattle. Feels good to discover this thing to shake me out of my Chicago nostalgia. I’m gonna go ahead and post a few of these should it pique your interest. They split in 85 after releasing a couple EP’s and doing a tour in Canada with Simple Minds.
