A couple months ago I went to see The Rezillos, on one of my visits in Dundee at a club called The Beat Generator Live. It was a great evening full of good music. Here is how it went.
When we entered it was almost empty. I didn’t know that all the old punks of Dundee would show up real late. I could see couple of old mods with Harringtons and Dr Martens. The first band took stage; they were called The Stoor, a 4 piece rock band. Their time on stage was short, after playing couple of their songs the Cherry Bombz entered stage. They mainly did classic punk and mod covers, all good spirited. The hall started getting crowded by then.
When it was time for The Rezillos, it was packed, you could not move anywhere. There they were on stage. They still had that authentic sound. The whole place was crushing. Their performance was excellent. By the way, for those who are not familiar with The Rezillos: they are a female fronted punk band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland in the mid 70s. Current line up includes three of the original members. They played couple of songs from their new album and they did also their classics like “Flying Saucer Attack”. The singer Fay Fife was the star of the evening, she knows how to rock!
Here are some photos. Enjoy!
