I was having some friends over the other night and the conversation turned into bitching about how the 90’s sucked for real rock and roll. I told em’ they just needed to dig a little deeper. The Mummies, Thee Headcoats, The Lazy Cowgirls, Rocket From The Crypt and The New Bomb Turks were all on the scene, along with one of the albums that made me a true believer in everything Rn’R….”Saturday Night Fever” by The Devil Dogs. This baby had everything I needed, trashy “Wall Of Sound” snotty punk with New York attitude… and the Gene Pitney cover “Backstage” was just the cherry on top. Perfect.
So while all the other “punk” kids were listening to “Dookie” and “Smash”, I was Long Gone on Saturday Night…..
