Album of the Week: Spotlight on Volar Records – Ten 7″ s For $10

Something a little different for this weeks’ Album of the Week. San Diego’s Volar Records might not be new to you and you may be familiar with some of the bands here, but if they are new to you then this is a perfect time.

Right now their Bandcamp site Volar is offering ten 7″ for $10 (while supplies last) – that’s quite a deal and there’s some pretty wicked stuff here.

We’ve got the noisy post-punk of Keepers (Facebook), the hooky drone punk of Lazy (Lazy – Facebook), the power pop fueled punk of Tiger High (Tiger High – Facebook), the garage thrash of The Hussy (The Hussy – Facebook), the synth punk of Cave Curse (Cave Curse – Facebook), the anxiety pop of Growwing Pains (Growwing Pains – Facebook), the noise pop of Eat Skull (Eat Skull – Facebook), the moody flower punk of Fine Steps (Fine Steps – Facebook), the mutant noir-punk of Beaters (Beaters – Facebook), the sonic punk of Far Corners (Far Corners – Facebook), which once featured Mr. Airplane Man’s Tara McManus on drums with her husband Justin Hubbard on guitar and vocals.

There’s something here for everyone.
