Rock N’ Roll From Vienna , Meet….Siren Call

siren call

This is for all those people who ask me daily, “who are the new bands who just rock n roll”? Siren Call deliver a solid mix of good old guitar riffs, awesome bass sound and some solid drum beats. Yvonne Lace has one hell of a voice, and I’m sure that in 2014, you will be seeing a lot more press about Siren Call, just remember you heard them 1st at 50thirdand3rd…….

Hi our name is….Siren Call

And our sound might be best described as….alternative Rock/ post grunge

Yvonne: Nirvana meets No Doubt

Jason: Mixture of Alice in Chains and Hole

Gabor: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Garbage and Pearl Jam

We are…

Jason: I play lead guitar and sing background vocals.

Yvonne: I sing and play bass.

It’s me Gabor: I play drums.

We are originally from…..

Jason: I was born raised in Los Angeles California, I came to Austria a few years ago and I’ve been mostly hanging out in Vienna ever since.

Yvonne: I’m originally from Bulgaria and currently studying in Vienna.

Gabor: I am from Hungary and live in a small town called Kószeg. I am working in Vienna.

The first time we met was…..

Jason: I was performing at a club in Vienna and at the end of the show Yvonne jumped on-stage, stole the microphone, had a friend pick up a guitar and proceeded to sing just like Gwen Stefani, covering “Sublime” songs.  Afterwards I asked her, “What is another Californian doing making music here in Vienna?” and she replied, “What are you talking about, I’m from Bulgaria!” I know people from Bulgaria she sounds nothing like them!  A few months later we began to collaborate and started work on the formation of Siren Call. I knew Gabor would be just the perfect drummer for this band. That was about two years ago and this band has been performing shows for just over a year.

We knew we were going to be a Band when………

Yvonne: I knew we were going to be a band once we discovered our mutual love for alternative rock with classic rock influences. When I first met Jason he was a VJ at a Flower Power 60s themed party, playing guitar solos along with the songs. I was very impressed with the way he performed Jimi Hendrix’ “Little Wing”. It turned out he was also a big Alice in Chains and Hole fan, so we immediately clicked. I knew Jason’s guitar playing was the perfect compliment for my singing and lyrics.  Gabor fit right in with his funky “chili pepper” swagger and unstoppable creativity!

Before starting the band we were employed as…….

Jason:  Before I became a rock star I was employed on a tropical island training little midgets for their competitive ski team on the FIS World Cup circuit.  Now that I am a rock star I give rock guitar lessons to young kids and continue to do so! 🙂

Yvonne: Occupation both Then&Now: Poet and Siren

Gabor: I’m a hair-stylist

The first song we wrote was…….Rose Ashes

It’s about……

Yvonne: The main themes that come to mind when thinking about “Rose Ashes” are survival and self-discovery. The song is full of symbolism and as much as I put my personal experience in the lyrics, I also leave it open for interpretation. My poetic inspiration comes a lot from bands like Nirvana and The Doors, so obviously I’m not into the straight forward approach to lyrics haha.

The one thing we want you to remember while you are listening to us……that our music comes  straight from the heart.

Expect…..international tours, our debut album and music videos from us in 2014
