Record of the Day: Three Packs a Day by Courtney Barnett

Just when I thought Christmas was over, Courtney Barnett gifted us a new song on Monday. “Three Packs a Day” is a new song that will be featured on a new record from Melbourne’s Milk! Records. Good For You features tracks from Courtney Barnett, The Finks, Jen Cloher, Fraser A. Gorman, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, and Ouch My Face. If your’e as big of a Courtney Barnett fan as I am, you may be interested to know that the album is a limited release of 3,000 copies on green colored vinyl, singled by the bands! You can snag a copy here.

“Three Packs a Day” has a folkier breakdown that Barnett’s most recent effort, Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit. By just reading the title, one would assume Barnett is singing about packs of cigarettes, but she’s actually exploring her love for packaged noodles.
