I knew within seconds of hearing the Thurston-like timbre of King Of Gold, that I was going to like it.
Toronto post-punks Casper Skulls brood like Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, and their new single King Of Gold is a perfect soundtrack if they ever bring back Night Ride on Global Television (sorry for the Toronto-centric reference of an 80s late night show featuring a car driving the streets of the city to sultry music).
King Of Gold will be released as a 7″ next month, but you can check it out online now. I for one am very interested in what else Casper Skulls have up their sleeve so we’ll be catching up with them shortly. In the meantime, enjoy.
