Record of the Day – ‘New To Try’ by Planet Jazz

Today’s Record of the Day is more crackin power pop goodness from Cornwall! If you recall a couple of weeks ago we premiered a new EP by Murph and the Gazorpos. Welp, Murph and The Gazorpos is basically the solo version of Planet Jazz. Planet Jazz is Murph (Charlie Murphy), Sam Stacpoole and Jake Willbourne (The Black Tambourines),and Josh Turner (The Bv’s). Sam Stacpoole who plays guitar in the Black Tambourines, learned how to play drums for this project. The songwriting is not entirely dissimilar to Murph and The Gazorpos. So if you dug that band you will surely dig this one too. They have a single about to be released on the great Manchester, UK label Crocodile Records.

From Crocodile Records:
CROC009 will be released in a couple of weeks. It’s a 4 track 45, by Planet Jazz, a 1979 Style Powerpop band, from the South West of England. Think The Nerves, Plimsouls, Knack. That skinny tie kinda thing!
