In search of personal transformation and betterment, here is a new single out by the HOO HAs, “This is the New Me”. This single is the second taken from their forthcoming self-titled debut EP. Deadpan, casual and unconcerned vocals leading the way into a spacious and commodious melody by drawing influences from Dylan, Tom Waits, Mose Allison and The Kinks to Violent Femmes, Pixies, Ian Dury and Bright Eyes. It has a catchy and appealing melody, part of the Brit pop legacy. “I suppose this song is about trial and error nature of learning what parts of my life are good for me” says lead singer Jamie. “The sense of self is a flexible concept, every time you have a new thought you can be a new person. How I feel today may not be how I feel tomorrow, always struggling for continuity”.
