Record of the Day: “Everybody Wants to Love You” by Japanese Breakfast

The February release of “Everybody Wants to Love You” from Toronto’s Japanese Breakfast is the first single from April release Psychopomp. This dreamy, shoegaze solo project from Little Big League’s Michelle Zauner is something to get excited about. In the song Zauner asks bluntly, “Can I get your number, can I get you into bed?” The song’s hopefulness continues into ideas of shared toothbrushes, breakfast in bed, and marriage. “Everybody Wants to Love You” is the stream of consciousness lust of  a first encounter. It’s fun, hopeful, relatable, and incredibly danceable.
