THE PRISSTEENS premiere unreleased garage punker “Staten Island Queen”

The second (and likely final) anthology compilation of NYC’s underrated late-90’s garage punk cult favorites The Prissteens is set to be released in a few short weeks, and we’ve got the web premiere for the previously unreleased cut, “Staten Island Queen”.

Recorded in the summer of 1997, the tune is propelled by Mighty Joe Vincent’s heavy-hitting drum sound, some warm-sounding feedback in the intro that leads into girl gang chant vocals and a tough sounding hook. What more could you possibly want? The Prissteens Demos & Rarities Volume 2 comes out October 14th on Girlsville.

(Thanks to The Prissteens former A & R man Howard Thompson for pictures of The Prissteens. If you want candid snaps of The Prissteens and all manner of rock n roll notoriety, I highly suggest you follow him on instagram @purehowardthompson.)
