The title of The Rizzos new album ‘How It Was‘ could be a wink to sounds of the past with its garagey 90s grunge-pop feel, or it could be a nod to the fact that Megan Mancini and Justin Ferraro are joined by drummer Bettina Warshaw for the final time. Perhaps a little of both?
The album is due out from King Pizza on November 12 and we’re bringing you an early listen with ‘Way Out‘ a mid-tempo treat of fuzzy and hooky garage pop with a melancholic edge. The song sprawls across the decades, landing somewhere in between Throwing Muses and Swearin’ without making an outright commitment either way. ‘How It Was‘ is going to be on heavy rotation this fall.
