Here’s a few tunes to jump start your week to. And while your doing that check out what they had to say…. and don’t forget to…TURN IT UP!!
Meet….. Morgellons
Hi our name is….
Morgellons
And our sound might be best described as….
Post-Punk or possibly Alt-Rock
But it’s all about trying to make a new sound using influences from a wide spectrum of bands and artists.
We are…
Vincent, Mark, Josh & Mannie
We are originally from…..
3/4’s West London £ 1 1/4 East London
The first time we met was…..
A long story, but Josh & Mark went to the same school & were both into old school Punk. Mark knew Vince and Mannie from going to punk gigs. It kinda evolved from that, very slowly.
We knew we were going to be a Band when………
I (Mark) heard Vince sing
Before starting the band we were employed as…….
Well, Vince works in an office, Mark on the railway, Josh in printing & Mannie is a landscape gardener.
So quiet varied.
Our craziest gig ever was….
The last one…
The opening band turned up very late and we were all running late with a curfew to meet, as it was the first gig at this new venue in Crawley, Sussex. The promoters are friends and we knew they needed to meet the owners demands to get more shows at this place.
In the end, us & Menace (the headline act) pulled off great sets in this small out of town bar and everyone was happy. A packed house went mental!
The first song we wrote was…….
Monochrome Soul I think.
It’s about……
The bleak world that we live in.
Fast food, dreary grey buildings, council estates etc etc
What we are currently listening to….
Me (Mark) personally.. Savages, Killing Joke, Iggy & The Stooges, The Tall Boys new album.
A few albums we could never part with….
Dirk Wears White Sox – Adam & The Antz
The Scream – Siouxsie & The Banshees
Killing Joke – The 1st Album & more recently Absolute Dissent
Joy Division – Unknown Pleasures
Savages – Silence Yourself
Theatre Of Hate – Who Dares Wins
Motörhead – No Sleep til Hammersmith
For fun we like to…..
Rehearse, play live, and then play some more. It’s a great way to release those frustrations and all that angst.
The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us……
That if you can hear where we’re coming from, who we’re nodding to, then you’re at least getting it, and hopefully getting off on it.
Expect….
Everything..
from us in 2014….
Gigs gigs and more gigs.
Hopefully we can find us an agent or manager who will push us into the bigger support slots.
We’re getting there very slowly, having already supported punk legends Penetration and rumours of a support to Theatre Of Hate, but nothing confirmed yet…
