Chicago’s Flesh Panthers put out one my favourite records of 2015 with NGC 2632. It rocks out with unabashed garage punk noise with a hint of some underlying 70s classic rock chops.
So it’s safe to say I was pretty stoked to hear about their new long player – Willows Weep, due out October 1st on Maximum Pelt Records.
One of the perks of what we do here is that sometimes we get a sneak preview. I’ve been listening to Willows Weep for a few months now and I gotta tell you, it continues to blow me away.
The garage is still there, but instead of riding the punky party wave of say FIDLAR, the 70s classic rock/glam goods are out on full display. On Willows Weep Flesh Panthers rip through 8 seriously accomplished Exile-era Stones meets The Gun Club twangy rock and roll jams.
You can check out the wicked lead single – Last I Heard and then head over to pre-order this sucker by clicking HERE!. Maybe you’ll even get a super-duper surprise along with your order.
Album of the year….? It’s up there for sure.
