The raucous UK racket making crew Dead Arms are back and their new record ‘Simply Dead‘ will be released May 10.
‘Simply Dead‘ is the band’s first release since 2017 and first long-player since their sonic debut ‘All The Hits‘ was released in 2015. Dead Arms features members of USA Nails, Los Bitchos, Death Pedals and It Often Takes A War and we featured them back in 2015 – you can read it here.
The first salvo from the new album – ‘Apocalypse Yow‘ is an abrasive stomper. Opening with with a Black Flag-esque riff, the track drops into a cacophony of noise, a wall of guitars, a pummeling rhythm section and the scabrous vocals of General Waste.
Lyrically cryptic but accompanied by a video alluding to the shit storm that is Brexit. The title is also possibly a reference to the great David Yow, as Dead Arms certainly play in the Jesus Lizard sandbox.
