Way back in late 2013 ,I luckily came across The Mad Doctors while searching the web for new bands to feature here in our early days. That in turn led to a connection with our friends King Pizza Records and all of the cool bands they have brought to our attention over the years. Greg from The Mad Doctors is the guy who runs the whole King Pizza operation. His band The Mad Doctors has a new album on the way and from the two tracks that I’ve heard it’s a total kick ass garage punk powerhouse. Expect for me to have ‘No Waves, Just Sharks’ up as our Album of the Week as soon as the album goes live. I asked Greg for a few words to help introduce us to the new album.
from Greg:
“We’re really psyched with our second LP No Waves, Just Sharks cuz it’s the heaviest, fuzziest, and most balls-out record we have done yet. We had a lot of fun in the studio and spent a long time honing these songs to really embody all the different sounds we love while really pounding them out as loud and furious as we can. “
Now go turn it up and dance like the crazy person you are….
Dead Beach
Beach bummin’ lady
With her skin cancer man
Are taking deep breaths full of sea salt
And pockets full of sand
Sunglasses with one frame missing
Foot slashed by an old beer bottle
He talks but she don’t listen
He’s dead broke, she wants to be a model
She’s a burnout
He’s a deadbeat
Two dropouts
Burning in the sun
Or sleeping in the backseat
Foot slashed on the pavement
Looking for something to sniff
Bloodshot brains fizzling out
Dead eyeballs could use a lift
He’d live for living
She’d die for dying
Two burned out beach bums
With no hope and no use in trying
She’s a burnout
He’s a deadbeat
Two dropouts
Burning in the sun
