Mars Presents the Cosmic Troubadour, King Corduroy for his Album Release event happening at The 5 Spot next Wednesday, October 11th also featuring acts BANG!BANG! and Shawn Mayer.
Kurt McMahan aka King Corduroy makes his 5 Spot premier for the release of his third album LA Skyline.
Originally from Montgomery, AL, Kurt spent six years in Austin, TX honing his craft while absorbing the troubadour tradition of storytelling. After 4 years in Los Angeles, he relocated to Nashville to flourish as a writer and performer. King Corduroy’s unique sound draws from many Southern regions: The Swamp Sound of Muscle Shoals, the Soul of Stax in Memphis, the funk of The Crescent City and the electric blues of Texas. Add Kurt’s natural Country twang along with an authentic Cosmic message and you get: Cosmic Southern Soul.
The evening will also be shared with BANG!BANG! a trio based right here in Nashville. 
Badass is the only way to explain this outrageously talented group of women. Vanessa Olivarez (of Granville Automatic & American Idol), Trista Mabry (of Trista and The Sweats & The Reverse Cowgirls) and Minnie Murphy (former Sony Recording Artist) comprise this sultry and smoky, brash and brass band with a sound emanating from the most heavenly of backwoods.
Also featuring SHAWN MAYER, from Nashville. “Short and to the point” is how she describes herself.
