Nothing feels like so much like summer in Texas as a Jerry Jeff Walker record. And hey, why not one recorded live in Luckenbach? Live albums are mostly a miss for me, but Viva Terlingua, released in 1973 is so great, so classic, it’s a definite exception.
I see this record for sale in used bins everywhere, and I think it’s worth any price a shop puts on it. It’s the perfect record for a hot summer night, whether you’re sitting around drinking with friends, fixing a meal that doesn’t involve turning on the oven, or just lying under the fan in your underwear, trying to stay cool.
It’s a party record and it’ll make you smile from start to finish. A must for any summer playlist.
