James Brown – The Singles, Vol. 1: The Federal Years: 1956-1960

For those of you that know me, you know that garage/punk rock is my passion. But I love me some soul music.
Along with Otis, Sam and Solomon, James Brown has always been at the top of my list. Even though I like some of his later “Godfather of Funk” era stuff, I gravitate towards his early R&B soul singles on Federal Records. I ordered this limited edition CD from Hip-O Select a while ago. I think it is sold out but you can check it out HERE. I posted one of my favorite tracks also…”Try Me” by JB and the Furious Flames.
