THE DUSTAPHONICS
The birth of The Dustaphonics in 2008 was auspicious indeed, blessed by the likes of music legends and pioneers such as Bo Diddley, Spanky Wilson, and Wanda Jackson as part of Serrano’s Raison D’Etre London Artists Collective www.reason2b.net . As if that wasn’t enough, legendary cult-movie star Tura Satana (Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat!Kill! Kill!) co-wrote the song “Burlesque Queen” with Serrano, which is featured on The Dustaphonics killer first album, Party Girl ( KIng A Ling Records London / Dirty Water Records England)
The varied musical influences that inform The Dustaphonics’ sound are essentially American and vintage, a dynamic mix of high-energy rock n roll, groovy rhythm & blues, soul stomper and authentic frantic wild surf-guitar instrumentals and yet there is something remarkably fresh and progressive about their songs. The band, produced by DJ Healer Selecta (Freestyle records UK) plays with a distinctly London attitude that takes their music beyond simple imitation and infuses it with tremendous energy and passion.
Featuring the gorgeous Hayley “Dustaphonics” Red on vocals, on guitar composer, band leader, producer and acclaimed disc jockey Yvan Serrano-Fontova (aka DJ Healer Selecta, on drums, the talented Eric Frajria or Legendary Bruce Brand and on bass, mister Dan”Diaboliks” Whaley or Marcus” Bikini Beach Band” Dods.
