Ghoul’s Night Out, Volume 1

Novelty horror jams aren’t really a thing bands do anymore, but man, were they popular in the 50s, and a few years back Simpletone Records put out a fun comp of some great ones called Ghoul’s Night Out. It even comes on groovy orange vinyl, which makes it pretty hard to resist, if you’re a lover of all things Halloween. And the songs are just plain fun.

Some of the songs are solid rockers with silly Dracula vocals over the top. Some are bitchin’ instrumentals with a spooky feel. Some are just hilariously strange.

If you’re getting ready for a costume party, or just hanging at home, waiting for trick-or-treaters, putting on this comp can help put you in the mood for a bewitching night of ghoulish proportions.
