Garage Power Pop from Portland: Patsy’s Rats

I was recently turned on to a great band from Portland, Oregon called Patsy’s Rats. This EP originally came out in 2015 but seems to have slipped through the cracks of the internet for a lot of people. The band is a duo consisting of Patsy Gelb (formerly of Scavenger C***) and Christian Blunda (Mean Jeans) and a revolving door of other musicians. Patsy’s Rats have a very 70’s Glam Rock/Garage/Power Pop flavor to their songs. Fans of The Ramones, Cheap Trick and Suzi Quatro will definitely dig this.  My favorite song of theirs is “Burnin’ Honey”.

Random fact: according to the band’s instagram page, they may be making some type of appearance in the new season of the popular TV show Portlandia.

If you have a VR headset you can check out a 360 music video for “Burnin’ Honey”

The cassette was released by Burger Records and they also have a 7″ single out on Dig! Records.
