One of the coolest things about being a part of 50thirdand3rd is discovering all the cool music from so many different places, it’s just amazing how many bands are out there just making some righteous noise. Today that Band is The Outfit from Denver who come to us from the good folks at Hot Congress Records. These guys are kicking it, big guitars and riffs abound, drums are pounding and The Outfit are rockin it. I like these guys , they have a touch of that classic rock vibe with a big dose of the big noise sound going on today . I’ve played the new single both sides numerous times and I keep coming back to pick up on all that’s going on in the songs. Love the distortion, very well done. For fans of garagerock and garagepunk…….

Can you tell us about the process you use, from writing the songs all the way through getting the album ready?
Everything is very democratic. Someone will bring a skeleton of a song and the rest of us will fill it in. Everyones input is respected. We all really feel when a song is working and when it isn’t. As far as the studio goes we try and strike a balance between being prepared and not being afraid to chase down new ideas.
Our craziest gig ever was….
Man, thats a tough question. I have loved so many of our shows for so many different reasons. Playing at Red Rocks was incredibly special. Our EP release was a great time. Anytime we win a crowd of people over it feels great. When I look up and see people bouncing around it feels like we’re all on the same team. I just really love that feeling.
If you could pick any time to travel back to for music, where would you go and what year would it be….
I’d want to spend 2 months in 1952, 2 months in 1962, 2 months in 1972 & 2 Months in 1982. I would probably just want to see a local show in Denver during these time periods. I would also like to go to a Bowie show in the 1970’s and one in the 80s.

“Thriller” by Michael Jackson
