Let’s face it some Record Companies are just a whole cooler than others. So much of it from my perspective as an outsider has to deal with motives and intentions. Are you in it for the money or for the art and without a doubt in my mind Ample Play falls on the right side of that question. In our continuing attempt to bring you the bands of Ample Play, today we feature Charles Howl. Their debut Album ‘Sir Vices’ comes out 16th March 2015 , and you ought to take the time out today and pre-order . Just a whole lot of glorious sounding psyche, their sound will fill your room with a swirling mass of trippiness . An awesome mix of guitars and drums, good stuff….

Hi our name is…. Charles Howl

And our sound might be best described as…. Brit – Pysche

We are….. Bobby, Kit, Callum, Chris & Charles

We are originally from….. The UK, all over. London now.

Who are some that have an influence on your sound? The Stone Roses, Deerhunter, The Kinks, Modern Lovers and friends.

The first time we met was….. lots of different times. I met Bobby at a party in Nottingham and told him to treat my friend he was seeing well or there’d be trouble after he laughed at me I think I asked him to play drums. He didn’t agree to this or see me again until nearly a year later.

We knew we were going to be a Band when……… Bobby filled in at the last minute for a small Europe tour and nailed the set in only a few days. From then on we worked together on everything.

Before starting the band we were employed as……. Film Editors, Studio Engineers, Barman. Still are.

Our craziest gig ever was…. I don’t know about crazy but the most fun we had playing was at Green Man festival last year on their version of the introducing stage, we got a couple of extra friends to join in the live show, thats my most memorable show to date.

The first song we wrote was……. Do No Harm

It’s about…… Doing No Harm

What tunes are you currently jamming to… Wire – Outdoor Miner & Denim – Middle of the road.

What are some of the 1st songs you remember listening to that made you say, that’s what I want to do……. Blur – The Universal, Supertramp – Dreamer, The Lusts – Dreamtalker

When you are touring and have some time off , where could we find you..,., Roma next month. We’ve heard the flee markets are good so we’ll get someone to show us around there I guess.
