I have been following the music of Greg Lowery (AKA Greg Ripoff) for years now. He started one of my all time favorite bands Supercharger (not to be confused with the shitty Denmark band of the same name) and numerous other trashy, lo fi, punk bands like The Infections, The Rip Offs and The Zodiac Killers. He also founded the Independent punk garage label Rip Off Records in 1993 with some of the best garage punk of the 1990’s on his label. His newest project is named “Control Freaks” from the San Francisco Bay Area and it encapsulates everything I love about Greg’s music.

This is snot-caked Bay Area slime by abusive maniacs with the teen-beat on lockdown, and they will C.O.N.T.R.O.L. your last remaining brain cells! “Mindless Entertainment” got all the obnoxious pop you can handle: “Hollywood” is classic G-Lo retardation, and guitarist Natalie Sweet is making us itch sharing vocal doodies all over the album in her best Edith Bunker impression. Keep punk stupid, stupid!
