Cold Meat are a punk band from Perth. This is a track called “Nice Girl” from their new single “Pork Sword Fever”, and it has a sound that sits somewhere between Bratmobile and Good Throb. It’s coming out on Helta Skelta in Australia and Static Shock in the UK. Static Shock put out that great TV Crime single last year. Add them to the list of great punk coming out of Australia lately. A lot of the best punk in the states right now seems to be coming out of hardcore, I think in Australia there’s some first wave synth punk sounds like Spotting, and this also is very 70’s sounding to me along with Red Red Krovvy. This new Cold Meat single is slated for a December release, I’ll try and bring some over in Girlsville distro.
