I can still remember the first time I heard Christine McVie’s 1970 Christine Perfect album. I knew instantly it would be one of my favorites, and years later, it still is. It’s one I turn to like a favorite sweater, comfortable, reliable, cozy.
Released before her days in Fleetwood Mac, before she married and became Christine McVie, Christine Perfect is a near-perfect album. It invokes the feeling of the 70s, from the peacock chair cover shot to the bluesy, mellow, soulful selection of songs, and Christine’s smokey, confident voice, full of ease and comfort.
Original pressings are hard to come by, but the album was reissued several times, so vinyl copies are out there. You can also listen to the whole thing on youtube here. Enjoy!
