Stratford, Ontario’s Cat Clyde has had a busy year.
First she released her debut record – the stunning “Ivory Castanets“, an album that will show up on a number of “Best of 2017” lists, including mine. She also toured relentlessly, including a number of dates supporting the legendary Rodriguez.
As we turn the page on 2017, Clyde easily sustains all of that momentum by releasing one of her strongest tracks to date – “The River“, a gorgeous finger-picked folky ode to a departed soul mate.
Her pure, raw talent is on full display here; to say that I could listen to her sing the phone book is an understatement.
