Carly Rae Jepson & a Packed Pittsburgh Show

Carly Rae Jepson is so much more than “Call Me Maybe.”

This Canadian born pop singer has come into her own and I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert this past Friday at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh.

I have a special appreciation for artists who remain true to their own voice. Carly has this quality and more. She isn’t trying to be Mariah or Whitney. She’s just being Carly. And her voice sounds superb live. Her innocence and sweetness comes through perfectly when she is singing her love songs, especially my favorites from EMOTION. I also love the fact that even though she is a pop star, she has an indie vibe. She doesn’t seem to concerned with maintaining tabloid-level fame, and I love that.

The sold out show was beyond packed and once again, me and my BFF Alaina had an amazing time together.

We ended the night by going to The O in Oakland to eat 5 pounds of fries. If you’re from Pittsburgh, you know what I am talking about! Yet another magical night! <3
