NOFUN is a Garage-Punk band from Nuremberg and Berlin (Germany). All of the members grew up together in Nuremberg’s local music scene, but it was only until singer Andreya returned from a stay in California to Berlin, that they decided to get together and have NO FUN at all. Their debut show was a support gig for DIRECT HIT! in an abandoned building and featured an inflatable whale as well as a naked dude wearing a wrestling mask. Musicwise it’s a weird blend of 80’s Punk, traditional Punkrock and Californian Garage-vibes.
“Ode an die Freude” (Ode to Joy) is a sarcastic turn on the idea of having no fun, as well as an allusion to Clockwork Orange and Ludwig van Beethoven, which also had been the name of a local band two NOFUN-members were in. The bananas in the video are just total nonsense.
