Amy Winehouse Remembered

On September 14th, 2014, a sculpture was unveiled in London’s Camden on the what would have been the singers 31st birthday. It reminded me of the clip of Amy above and how much joy she brought her fans before her addictions overcame her and ended her life so tragically young.
I have always been a fan of Amy, not only because of her amazing voice, but because I have had, and still do have, issues with substance abuse. I understood how crippling it can be. I only wish that somehow I could have reached her in some capacity before her spiral. I am thankful that there is now a tribute to her in Camden and future generations can appreciate what she accomplished at such a young age.
