It would be the scene where the proto-humanoid apes discover the monolith and that bones can be used as weapons, placed somewhere between György Litgeti’s “Requiem” and Richard Strauss’s “Also Sprach Zarathustra“.
The heavy psych trio combine the bright mystical aura of Ozric Tentacles with the metallic doom of Orange Goblin on their latest record, the aptly titled “Seismic Vibes“. Can “sunny doom” be a thing?
Anyway, even though it’s September already, it’s not too late to crank this up in the Camaro and head out on the highway. It’s the perfect soundtrack for both hitting the road and discovering that bones can be used as weapons.
