Minnesota rockers The Persian Leaps fill their breakfast bowl with equal parts Smithereens, Guided By Voices and Teenage Fanclub.
“Pop That Goes Crunch” is the band’s first full-length release after no less than 5 EPs over the years. It also offers a end of sorts as the band is moving away from performing live. However frontman Drew Forsberg has enough material for a few more releases as a studio project.
This 18-song LP collects tracks from the previous EPs like the power pop jangle of “Picture My Reaction“, and the infectious guitar driven rock of “Dottie, Queen of the West” all remixed and remastered. There are also alternate versions of “Entropy” and “Not That Brave” as well as a brand new track, the hooky “Time Slips“.
