Album of the Week: THE DIRTS – Debut S/T

On their self-titled debut, Swedish punks The Dirts put gas in the tank, and don’t take their foot off the pedal for almost 19 minutes.

This is appropriately filthy, roughed-up, lo-fi, budget punk rock with winks to a wasted Teenage Head, Sick Thoughts, and the In the Red catalog. Produced on the cheap, these 9 songs are full of blown-out power chords and distorted vocals that sound like they’re coming from the bathroom, and who knows, maybe they are. It all makes for a magnificent but deranged din.

Out on Neon Taste in North America and Helvete’s Kitchen in Europe. You’ll have to stream this sucker until physical copies are available.
