Album of the Week: METHMATICS – S/T

I know virtually nothing about Columbus, Ohio’s MethMatics other than the fact that their self-titled debut kicks some serious ass.

There’s plenty of swagger and snot-nosed attitude on the 13-track debut and it rocks out like a beefed-up Hanoi Rocks crashing a party at the Dead Boys flophouse. The spirit of New York City is alive and well and MethMatics always seem to have two feet in the gutter with sleazy rockers like ‘I’m a Good Boy‘, ‘Have A Nice Day‘ and ‘Russian Bride‘.

Full of big guitars and big hooks, this is really good anthemic guitar glam-punk for fans of the Toilet Boys, Dictators, and the Dolls.

Crystal Price – vocals
Byron Weaver – bass
Joey Yates – rhythm guitar
Billy Spitfire – lead guitar
Chris Cox – drums
