Album of the Week: FIRST BASE offer up Cavity Inducing Rock and Roll with “Not That Bad”

I’m two hours from Toronto, the home of power poppers First Base and I have no idea why I haven’t seen this band live yet.

As someone who gets drunk on the sounds of The Records, Shoes, and other cavity inducing rockers, First Base check all the boxes: sweet catchy harmony-filled choruses, punk energy, jangly guitars, floor tom stomping, and TWO songs with girls names as the title.

Their second record, “Not That Bad” just released on the fabulous UK label – Drunken Sailor Records, is a perfect blend of rock and roll and pop, a Bomp cocktail you can call Rich Kids with Pointed Sticks.

I’m like a kid in a candy store.
