It’s Sunday and in my hometown of Pittsburgh, the radio turns to Americana. It’s family time , front porch, foot stomping, swinging tunes , a whole lotta fun. These guys pack the energy of the Avett Brothers , not an easy thing to do. So pull up a chair, pass the jug around and join in the fun of KGB….You might come away thinking some of us from PA grew up in Nashville…

Hi our name is….the Kalob Grifin Band
And our sound might be best described as….outlaw americana
We are… Kalob Griffin, John Hildenbrand, Eric Lawry, Robert Dwyer and Jonathan Colvson
We are originally from…..Philadelphia
The first time we met was…..Happy Valley / State College
We knew we were going to be a Band when………girls started giving us more attention and the beer was FREE!
Before starting the band we were employed as…….students / waiters / golf caddies / general laborers / whatever we could find
Our craziest gig ever was…. Barn Jam (see photo below) . It was halloween and this psychedelic barn in western pa was packed with people going absolutely nuts. I was dressed as Forrest Gump and at one point i lead the entire crowd in a run around the barn. EPIC Time.
The first song we wrote was…….Whiskey My Love
It’s about……uhhhh loving whiskey more that anything else
What we are currently listening to….a mix between Willie Nelson, Elton John, Neil Young and The Grateful Dead.
