7 inches of Rock N Roll- Mattiel-Double Cover

Hey kids it’s a brand new segment where Benny Fuzz brings you the best in 7 inches full of Rock N Roll! This week we go to Atlanta, Georgia with the Rock N Roll sounds of Mattiel. This exploding single is just an entrance into one of the coolest Rock N Roll bands to come out of Atlanta in modern times. Mattiel brings the heat with what I would call a double A-side record. There is no B on this one. The two songs featured are covers. The first is a cover of The Clash’s Guns of Brixton. This version is full of Ska and slow doom and gloom protest! Just the way I like em hot on off the grill and straight to the burnin hot 7 inch plate! The second is a blazing hot cover of a favorite song of mine by non other than the Beastie Boys!! The song is titled Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun. Some may remember Anthrax doing this song on the Beavis and Butthead Experience cassette. Mattiel Does not disappoint which ever version you remember. This song is like the cherry on the top of a beautiful seven inch sundae loaded with Rock N Roll Protest with a voice reminiscent of Grace Slick. Enjoy both here and pick up this hot wax before your sad you didn’t.
