This was a much welcomed surprise in my mailbox! This weeks 7 inches of Rock N Roll comes to us from the bay area legends Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine with their new 7 inch No More Selfies b/w The Ghost of Vince Lombardi. This 7 inch comes to me by way of the amazing Alternative Tentacles 7 inch Spread the Virus record club membership for July! Which I fully endorse and suggest you join to gain access to such treasures as this from past, present, and future. More on the club memberships on my end of year article. Let’s dive right in!

The first tune on the record No More Selfies blistering guitar and bass licks for days as Jello sets boundaries with others on their excessive phone use in public. I have always loved Jello’s take on reality and this one does not disappoint with lyrics like “Now It’s Dawn of The Dead, Where Ever You Go, Pushy Selfie Junkies, Won’t leave People Alone”. Jello says what he means and means what he says. I think in the definition of punk is a picture of Jello. The 2nd tune calling out to society for better change out of love on The Ghost Of Vince Lombardi. Warnings of existential threats burning the scorched earth roll of the tongue of Jello as the band burns through another punk musical masterpiece. All in all the most solid 7 inches of Rock N Roll I have got my hands on this year! The band is Ralph Spight: Guitars, Keyboard, Vox / Larry Boothroyd: Bass / Jason Willer: Drums, Metals, Vox / Jello Biafra: Vox
