VIRVON VARVON – London vets make glorious postmodern punk racket – PREMIERE

VIRVON VARVON are a post punk band comprised of vets from The Jazz June, Black Time, and Candy Highway.

You’ve got:
Hanne Highway – Vox
Stix Champion – Drums
Koala – Guitar, Vox
Rob Bass – Bass
Lemmy Caution – Guitar

At times brilliantly tuneful and uniquely catchy, cacophonous and riotous at others (sometimes in the same song), They have penchant for writing stone cold postmodern punk classics. Virvon Varvon have a release slated for later in 2018 on Girlsville / Nerve Centre Records, and this discordant ripper here called “What Did You Say?” exudes a kind of claustrophobic rage and paranoia that feels very right in the current climate. In March it will come out on the V/A OUR VOLTAGE benefit comp, the proceeds of which are going to anti racist/anti fascist legal defense funds, leftist self defense gym Haymaker in Chicago, and to citizen livestreamers covering anti racist actions who the state have tried to prosecute, assault, and arrest.
