This is Rock ‘N’ Roll…..Meet, The Dead Good

When I first saw a picture of The Dead Good on Twitter, I had to know more about them , they just looked like rock ‘n’ roll. I’m glad I did, HOLY SHIT, WOW these 2 rock the casbah. This is some of the most glorious noise I have heard in a long time. Alison Mosshart finally has someone who could dare to stand and sing on the same stage and not be embarrassed. This duo of Sonny and Isabella is crazy ass good. The harmonies are close to perfect , the way they play off of each other is incredible. Is this on Vinyl?? I cover a lot of Bands, thinking the number has to be around 300 in the last year and I’m telling you, that after 3 listens , I would rate The Dead Good with the best of them. Listen to them …today, don’t wait, don’t procrastinate, just turn it up as loud as you can and get ready to be blown away…

We are THE DEAD GOOD.

You both look pretty bad ass, how long have you been together, how did you meet?
We know each other a little less than 3 years… It has been three exciting, adventurous and crazy years…
I guess we are the typical example of meeting in a bar followed by some crazy nights.

People say we sound like…..
a heavier version of The Kills, some people say Isabella’s voice is a mix of Patti Smith and Debbie Harry (Blondie).

We are originally from…..
Europe. Isabella is from Germany and Sonny is from Italy.

Who are some that have an influence on your sound
The Dead Weather, Band Of Skulls, Courtney Love, Queens of The Stone Age, The Kills.

Can you tell us about the process you use, from writing the songs all the way through getting the album ready?

Usually Sonny takes care of the guitar riffs and developing the basic ideas. Then I usually join him and if the song “hits” me, we keep working on it.

Most of the time I write the lyrics to all of our songs. We do all the pre-production in our home studio and the post-production takes place in Italy at La Fucina Studios.

Right now we slowed down a little due to our baby, but on the other hand I think it’s a great thing, because parenthood influences our sound and lyrics.

I think the album will be a bit more grown-up without loosing our typical style.

Our craziest gig ever was….
We plaid a gig in an old castle in Germany – in winter! It was freezing cold and I lost one of my heels,
so I had to go barefoot on stage. I think my body temperature lowered by a couple degrees, but once we started playing and

the people freaked out, I forgot about everything in the moment…

It felt like walking on a warm sandy beach – nevertheless I was sick for almost two weeks after that.

If you could pick any time to travel back to for music, where would you go and what year would it be….

Probably the late 60s to catch a live show of The Doors or the late 80s/early 90s to play with Kurt Cobain. I already met Mick Jagger, so that’s off the bucket list!

Growing up, at home we listened to…..

A lot of different stuff… From The Rolling Stones, over Tool, Puscifer, Nine Inch Nails to German Baby Lullabies.

What tunes are on heavy rotation for you…
Nine Inch Nails “Came Back Haunted” (can’t get enough) or Reznor’s project with his wife How To Destroy Angels “Big Black Boots”
Just went to the Hollywood Bowl to see Soundgarden and NIN play togehter – absolutely an unforgettable night!

If you could open for any Band right now who would that be and why?

Maybe Puscifer – because Maynard is an absolute genius and I think the style would fit together.

If you could give any advise to the kids who are just picking up their 1st guitars or drum sets and want to be in a rock n roll band, what’s your advise?

Play, Play, Play! Don’t waste your time reading notes or to play by the book. Develop your own style and most importantly train your ears!

Any projects in the works?
We just wrapped on our music video for “Crush” which will be expected to premiere late September. And of course our first full-length album.

When you are touring and have some time off, where could we find you…

Where the locals are… We are big road trip travelers and we love to find the hidden gems only the locals know about!

The one thing we want you to remember while your listening to us
Don’t be usual. Be yourself and be unique!

LISTEN TO THIS TODAY…….

and you should follow/keep up and or like…The Dead Good
