THE WHO ! ‘My Generation’ – November 5, 1965…

50 years ago , on 5 November 1965, a vibrant young British four-piece called The Who released a single titled ‘My Generation‘ in the United States. The same titled album would follow on December 3. The track encapsulated the angst of being a teenager. A swipe at a world dominated by adults, a world where youngsters had to listen to their parents and weren’t supposed to have an opion. ‘My Generation’ was a bold statement in those conservative times. It made sharp songwriter and guitarist Pete Townshend, animal drummer Keith Moon, passionate singer Roger Daltrey and bass ox John Entwistle world-famous. After 50 years surviving members Townshend & Daltrey called it a day this year with a ‘best of’ compilation and a spectacular last gig at Glastonbury Festival (UK) last summer. But My Generation will be a youth anthem forever !…
