THE ROLLING STONES ! Deluxe Edition ‘Sticky Fingers’ – Interview with Keith Richards …

The Rolling Stones just announced American tour dates and… a Deluxe Edition of 1971 masterpiece album Sticky Fingers for release on May 25th. It was their 9th British and 11th American studio album. It was also Mick Taylor’s first full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones LP. I’m not really a fan of reissues, deluxe editions and other related ‘only for cash’ releases. I prefer the original diamond, the genuine stuff, the smell of vinyl, the first spin, the big cover sleeve. Not a clownish box you can’t place anywhere properly near your record player. Also Sticky Fingers means so much more to me than just the awesome music. My father was a professional music journalist in the sixties/early seventies. After several jobs his American Dream came true when he was recruited by Rolling Stone Magazine. And if that wasn’t enough his first big interview was in 1971 (the year of Sticky Fingers) with Keith Richards. A highly unusual, very special and introspective conversation with the Human Riff. Thanks dad, I’m still jealous but I’m also still proud of you. Here’s the result of my dad’s historical meeting with Keef in 1971…
