The Fleshtones in Hamburg

It was a while ago, I was lucky enough to see the Fleshtones on stage in Hafenklang (meaning Harbour Sound). It was actually just the day after the Allah-Las gig I mentioned you.

When we reached the venue, we found the place to be deserted. There were maybe two people sitting on the side, there. Well, we did not know there was no support band; we were there way too early. The stage was set and some point Ally even climbed behind the microphone and took to the stage with an impromptu version of Psycho! Well, not quite but it was pretty much fun for us.

The place got quite busy just before the band took stage. And, little did I know that it was going to be a great night. The band was so active and the guitarists were jumping on and about the stage (which is quite a small one)! Their drummer, Bill Milhizer, was simply amazing hitting that drums. They literally rocked the house. The singer, Peter Zaremba, was engaging the audience at all times which was making you feel part of the show. At some point, Peter took my phone and even recorded the show from his hands! We did sing along, and danced all night.

Once the show was over, we did stick around a bit longer and guess what, they came down to audience and spent the rest of the night with their fans. We were happy to have a small, friendly chat with Peter!

Here are some photos from that evening. Enjoy! And, to see upcoming concerts and news from The Fleshtones, please visit their official Facebook page!
